Extracurricular activities as a condition for the development of socio-cultural competence of a future teacher

Abstract

Background. The article deals with the problem of developing the socio-cultural competence of a student of a pedagogical university in the process of organizing and conducting extracurricular activities, which becomes relevant due to the need to train a teacher focused on solving the acute tasks of the spiritual and moral development of modern youth.

Objective. The aim is to consider the main directions of traditional and innovative forms, types of extracurricular activities of students of a pedagogical university in modern conditions of uncertainty and the need for effective social partnership.

Methods. The work used such methods as theoretical analysis of scientific articles, interviews, generalization of pedagogical experience in the formation and development of socio-cultural competence as one of the significant factors of the student’s spiritual and moral development and the most important component of his future work.

Results. In the context of this work, the contents of the basic concepts are clarified and the leading approaches to the formation and development of socio-cultural competence of students of a pedagogical university in the process of extracurricular activities are identified, a model for the development of socio-cultural competencies of students of a pedagogical university in the conditions of the organization of extracurricular activities is developed.

Conclusions. A structural and content model has been developed in order to form and develop socio-cultural competencies in the students of a pedagogical university while organizing extracurricular activities. Data on the positive dynamics of the development of socio-cultural competence of students of a pedagogical university have been obtained.
