Abstract

The relevance of the article is due to the fact that in the modern world, young people have many opportunities to explore the world through a computer monitor or a phone screen, so it is very important to form student-centered education in universities that takes into account the individual characteristics of each student. In addition, cultural knowledge is very important. They allow the development of the spiritual human’s essence.

The purpose of the article is to substantiate the principles of student-centered education of future architects based on a cultural approach. Based on the results of the content-analysis of articles by Russian authors, conducted in-depth interviews, work with focus groups (students, teachers), the article substantiates the need to integrate cultural knowledge in the study of various disciplines of the curriculum, and selects the most effective modern methods of teaching architecture students. The article is intended for teachers of higher educational institutions.
