The educational potential of artistic practices in the spiritual and moral development of a younger student

Abstract

The relevance of the article is due to the contradiction between the socio-cultural environment of personality formation who is changing under the influence of the crisis of culture and the unwillingness of the school to change approaches to educating the younger generation, to be included in the development of new cultural codes in new conditions. Decree of the President of the Russian Federation «On Approval of the Foundations of State Policy for the Preservation and Strengthening of Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values» № 809 on November 9, 2022 actualizes the appeal of the education system to traditional values, which undoubtedly provides opportunities for the realization of the educational potential of art and artistic practices in the spiritual and moral development of a younger student associated with the formation of value coordinates. The purpose of the article is to reveal the possibilities and resources of art practices in the development of the spiritual and moral qualities of younger students and the formation of their value dominants. In the course of achieving the goal, the article solves the tasks of clarifying effective means of the spiritual and moral development of the child and determining the place of art among these means; breeding the concepts of «artistic practices» and «art practices» on the basis of benefits for a holistic educational process; suggesting options for using the educational potential of artistic practices in the educational process of elementary school. The author formulated the main positions and principles of the concept of realization of the educational potential of art practices in the spiritual and moral development of the child; the content of the pedagogical process is revealed, integrating personal, social and spiritual values around the semantic dominants of works of art and creative activity; an original solution to the problem of integrating artistic practices into an integral educational process is proposed. The article is intended for teachers of elementary school and fine arts, methodologists who solve the issues of integrating educational and art practices in the structure of a holistic educational process.
