Abstract

The role of self-education is steadily increasing in today's dynamic world,. This is due to the rapid obsolescence of existing knowledge and skills, as well as personal experience in their application. Self–education is the most important mechanism for resolving the contradiction between the continuity of personal and professional self-development and the discreteness of formal education. The authors propose primary informational and semantic models of self-educational activity, criteria and levels of its success; it is proved that for an individual active in self-development, the educational environment is the whole social world.

The theoretical significance of the research results lies in the possibility of further understanding the phenomenon of self–education, non–formal education, as well as the interaction of an individual with an informal professional community, practical significance lies in the possibility of evaluating the efficiency of formal education as a mechanism for creating prerequisites for self-educational activity. Research methods: analysis of scientific psychological and pedagogical literature and advanced pedagogical experience in supporting students' self-development, modeling, methods of qualimetry, multiparametric analysis of systems, methods of set theory and graphs. Methodological foundations of the research: competence-based, activity-based, systemic, metasystem, personality-oriented, sociological, probabilistic-statistical, qualimetric and information-cognitive approaches.
