CopyIn this paper, the authors highlight the urgency to change pedagogical methodic and technologies in higher education, determined by changes in society. The authors point out that modern society is deeply immersed in digital technologies, and the realities are such that the methods used can no longer respond to the challenges of our time; in this regard, the authors put forward the assumption that the use of digital technologies, namely, virtual reality laboratory complexes in teaching students of a technical university, will improve the quality of the educational process.
The aim of the study is to prove this hypothesis. The authors give a comparative analysis of the scientific literature describing the existing virtual reality complexes that are exploited by transport universities and structures both abroad and in the Russian Federation. The work presents a typology of training complexes, briefly describes the advantages and pitfalls of virtual reality digital technologies on the example of railway complexes of reality simulators. In this paper, it is proved that the use of laboratory complexes of reality simulators can enhance the quality of education at a technical university via statistical methods for processing data.
