The purpose of the article is to study the essence, basic principles and features of the implementation of the contextual approach in practice-oriented teaching of a foreign language in agricultural universities. Special attention is paid to ways to adapt this approach to the current realities of agricultural education, the global digitalization of education, as well as the development of interdisciplinary integration as a means of creating a single educational environment.
