Abstract

Background. Currently, there is a particular urgency in considering the problem of readiness for personal choice of a graduate at a basic school. The significance of personal choice at this period is in the fact that the decisions made cover all important aspects of human life (Arbuzova, Borisova, 2019). In studying the readiness for personal choice of a basic school graduate, it is necessary to take into account the dynamic transformations of the studied parameters, the emergence of which is determined by a step-by-step and consistent shaping impact in the context of the educational organization.

Objective. The research focus is on the identification, theoretical substantiation, and experimental test of efficiency of re-flexing seminars as a means of formation of readiness for personal choice in a basic school student.

Study Participants. The study involved 120 respondents aged between 15 and 16 years, studying at schools in Kemerovo.

Methods. The study was carried out using the following methods: Self-actualization test (E. Shostrom, in the adaptation of L.Y. Gozman), Questionnaire “Style of self-regulation of behavior — SSP-98” (V.I. Morosanova), Motivation of success and fear of failure (A.A. Rean), Quiz of meaning (D.A. Leontiev) (SR). To process quantitative data Student’s t-criterion for dependent samples is used.

Results. Interpretations of the essence of readiness for personal choice are described. The article justifies a component structure of readiness for personal choice in basic school graduates. The role of reflection in the formation of readiness for personal choice has been determined. The possibilities of a reflective seminar as an educational technology are shown. Dynamic transformations of studied parameters of readiness for personal choice in schoolchildren are described.

Conclusions. Readiness for personal choice in a high school student is a complex multi-component structural-functional phenomenon. The readiness for personal choice is of multi-level nature in its manifestations of the content characteristics of individual components. Reflexive seminars act as an educational technology, involving analysis of difficulties, design of individual educational route, formation of personal position. This experience needs to be scaled up within educational institutions to track the dynamics of meaningful characteristics of student choices.
